Tamara S. Bowens. President & Chief Operating Officer

As President & Chief Operating Officer Tamara is responsible for the internal operations of the business and the real estate portfolio including project management, investor relations, and partner management.  She also has responsibility for marketing strategy, governmental affairs and community relations.

Prior to joining re-joining The Dawson Company, Tamara was a senior executive at Charter Communications, formerly Time Warner Cable, where she had full P&L responsibility for multi-billion-dollar business units including the small business and residential business unit inclusive of 2500+ employees spread across Sales, Operations, Human Resources and Real Estate.  Prior to pivoting to General Management, Tamara built an award-winning career in marketing and sales serving in a variety of executive positions including advertising & branding, product marketing, partnership marketing and customer experience with a variety of companies including Charter Communications, GMAC Insurance, First Data, SBC Communications (AT&T), Cingular Wireless and BowensBergeron (a sustainable handbag company of Tamara’s creation).

During her prior tenure at The Dawson Company Tamara was the Chief Marketing Officer and had responsibility for marketing, public relations, external affairs, and community relations for many of our developments including Lindbergh City Center, a $500 million, 52-acre mixed-use Transit Oriented Development in Atlanta, Georgia and The Banks, a $700 million, 2.8 million square feet mixed-use urban development in partnership with Carter Real Estate located in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She also orchestrated the transition from the Harold A. Dawson Company led by Harold A. Dawson Sr. to The Dawson Company led by Harold A. Dawson, Jr.

Tamara currently serves on the board of the Harvard Business School Club of New York and is an officer in the Harvard Business School African American Alumni Association.   Tamara holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Texas- Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.  In her free time, Tamara enjoys traveling, collecting art, and culinary experiences.
